The 26th Annual Symposium of the Pattern Recognition Association of South Africa (PRASA)
The 8th Conference of Robotics and Mechatronics (RobMech) of South Africa

Port Elizabeth, South Africa on 26 and 27 November 2015  


Important dates and deadlines

  1. Closing date for submission of papers: 31 August 2015
  2. Paper updates allowed untill 7 Sept  (Note, updates to submitted papers only.) 
  3. Notification of paper acceptance: 30 September 2015
  4. Conference registration opens: 01 August 2015
  5. Final date for submission of print ready papers: 24 October 2015
  6. Deadline for registration: 02 November 2015. 



For the PRASA Track, we invite you to submit original papers in any area related to pattern recognition, including but not limited to:

For the RobMech Track, any and all Robotics and Mechatronics topics will be considered, topics will include but are not limited to:

Submitted papers must follow the IEEE conference proceedings (templates available here) and be submitted in PDF format. Papers are invited in English, the official conference language. Two types of submissions are invited:

  • (1) Full papers reporting on original and unpublished research.
  • (2) Work-in-progress papers reporting on on-going research or innovative ideas for future research, presented in order to generate feedback.
  • Both contributions are limited to a minimum of four pages and a maximum of six pages, and only full papers will be published in the final proceedings.


  • All full papers will be submitted to a blind, peer-review process.
  • The length of a presentation is 15-20 minutes, including questions and feedback.
